Risk Management
Acute management has total commitment to the management of risk in the workplace. Our commitment has the active support of the organisation’s management team and staff and it is our policy to develop, establish and implement and infrastructure, or arrangements, that will ensure that the management of risk becomes an integral part of the planning, management process and general culture of the organisation.
To achieve these objectives, Acute has developed a Policy and Procedures Manual, which provides the foundation for a safe and effective working environment. This manual will be expanded and continually updated to meet the needs of the working environment and we encourage every employee to participate in the process.
Occupational Health & Safety Policy
Acute is well aware of the increasing common law claims from customer incidents in shopping centres. To reduce the cost of litigation, to both Acute and building owners/management, we have engaged the National Safety Council of Australia to develop a Workplace Health and Safety Policy Procedures Manual and Staff Induction handbook. The effective implementation of this manual ensures all staff and equipment comply with statutory requirements.
The effect of imposing these systems and establishing the correct manning levels have already resulted in dramatic reductions in incidents in Centres where Acute services are in place.
In addition, Acute has implemented monitoring systems and developed a comprehensive risk management procedure, to identify potential hazardous and accident prone areas within Centres. This information will be passed onto building owners/managers, along with recommendations on how to minimise this risk. This pro-active approach to managing safety will result in fewer incidents, greater customer satisfaction and lower insurance premiums, creating higher profitability.
